This is "the lost link ", one of my most expressive and strong wood carving work. It also belongs to my main theme , the human - animal.

wood carving

The work has , as a central element , a naked woman ( almost all nudity censored ) . There exists an attitude of " try to stand " with a contained pose , head down , and hair pulled .

wooden wall art

Three figures of wild animals are seen above the woman , apparently keeping away from her. These figures , in artwood sculpture, are presented as being inserted into a kind of " aura " or energy. A little bit of this "aura" is still remaining in the woman , although almost all of this energy is out , along with the animals , going in the opposite direction of the female figure .

In fact , this woman can not rise because it has lost its driving force . And this force is in the energy of the  wild animals that follows scaping from her. The human figure has no resources because its main source is gone . The "link" that further strengthened her brokes .

Forsake the existing wild spirit in humanity is to weaken the human universe . When man moves away from what is deep inside of human being , he loses his life energy and can not rise .

wooden art

The " lost link " is a art woodcraft that makes us reflect on the loss of true humanity . It is easy to see how humanity, today, is weak and powerless, easily succumbing to a ruthless and predatory artificial structure . This lack of power, in the woodcarving, is symbolized in breaking the energetic connection between the human figure and animal figures . Without this "wild spirit" will be more difficult to get the rebuild , and, unfortunately, we will continue weaked before what is making us lose our humanity.

The "human universe without humanity" that surrounds us is the picture of this woman in this wood carving, a human being without strength to stand up, head down, contained in posture, and hair pulled back, where his feeling of freedom ( expressed in the nakedness of woman ) can only be shown in censored form ( the vagina and breast hidden). We are and we can be much more than this, since man can reconnect with what really is part of human nature. All of this shows , once again , how complex is the essential , inevitable and important relationship between humans and the wild.
